Story of Great saint Sheikh Abdul Qadir Al-Gelani: By Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam

Mother gives principle of truth

I got this nice and famous story of truth, from one of the speech of Dr. Kalam

Now, I will narrate to you a story surrounding the life of a great saint Sheikh Abdul Qadir Al-Gelani which happened about one thousand years ago. One day child Abdul Qadir heard a cow saying, what are you doing here in the grazing fields, it is not for this you have been created. He ran back to his house feeling utterly terrified and climbed on to the roof of his house. From there he saw a large group of people returning from Arafat Mountain, thousands of miles away from his place in the neighbourhood of Mecca after performing Haj. Bewildered Abdul Qadir went to his mother and asked her permission to make a journey to Baghdad in order to pursue a career in knowledge. Mother understood the divine call and promptly gave the permission for him to go. She gave him 40 gold coins which was his share he inherited from his father. She stitched these 40 gold coins inside the lining of his coat and gave him permission to leave. When she stepped out of the door to bid him a farewell, she said, Oh, my son! You are going! I have detached myself from you for the sake of Allah knowing that I shall not see your face again until the day of last judgement. But take one advice from me. My son, you always feel the truth, speak the truth and propagate the truth even when your life is at stake.

Abdul Qadir travelled with a small caravan heading for Baghdad. During the journey, when the caravan was passing through the tough terrains, a group of robbers on horses suddenly attacked the caravan and started looting. None of them however took the slightest notice of Abdul Qadir, until one of the looters turned to him and said. You are here poor boy! Do you have anything with you? Abdul Qadir replied, I have got 40 gold coins which are stitched by my mother in the lining of my coat underneath my armpit. The looter smiled and thought that Abdul Qadir was just joking.

Interesting Story: Care for your near and dear

A man came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find his 5-year old son waiting for him at the door.

SON: ‘Daddy, may I ask you a question?’

DAD: ‘Yeah sure, what it is?’ replied the man.

SON: ‘Daddy, how much do you make an hour?’

DAD: ‘That’s none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?’ the man said angrily.

SON: ‘I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?’

DAD: ‘If you must know, I make Rs.100 an hour.’

SON: ‘Oh,’ the little boy replied, with his head down.

SON: ‘Daddy, may I please borrow Rs.50?’

The father was furious, ‘If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I don’t work hard everyday for such childish frivolities.’

The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door.

The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy’s questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?

After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down, and started to think:

Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that Rs50 and he really didn’t ask for money very often The man went to the door of the little boy’s room and opened the door.

‘Are you asleep, son?’ He asked.

‘No daddy, I’m awake,’ replied the boy.

‘I’ve been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier’ said the man. ‘It’s been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here’s the Rs50 you asked for.’

The little boy sat straight up, smiling. ‘Oh, thank you daddy!’ he yelled. Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills.

The man saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again.

The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father.

‘Why do you want more money if you already have some?’ the father grumbled.

‘Because I didn’t have enough, but now I do,’ the little boy replied.

‘Daddy, I have Rs.100 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.’

The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little son, and he begged for his forgiveness.

It’s just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts. Do remember to share that Rs.50 worth of your time with someone you love.

If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of hours. But the family & friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.

A Cool creative idea: nice website

One of my friend send this link, its really shows the creativity. Good work done by some cool programmer.

Take a look at HEMA’s product page. HEMA is a Dutch department store. You can’t order anything (it’s in Dutch, anyway) but just wait a couple of seconds and watch what happens. Don’t click on any of the item pictures, just wait and see what happens.

This company has a sense of humor and a great computer programmer, 🙂

really cooooooooooooool site.

Dedicated to all Mom’s and their children!!

I got this story through forward mail, Spend some time to read this! Really touching!

I was walking around in a Big Bazar store making shopping, when I saw a Cashier talking to a boy couldn’t have been more than 5

or 6 years old. The Cashier said, ‘I’m sorry, but you don’t have enough money to buy this doll. Then the little boy turned to me and asked: ”Aunty, are you sure I don’t have enough money?”

I counted his cash and replied: ”You know that you don’t have enough money to buy the dolll, my dear.”

The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand. Finally, I walked toward him and I asked him who he wished to give this doll to.

‘It’s the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much. Iwanted to Gift her for her BIRTHDAY. I have to give the doll to my mommy so

that she can give it to my sister when she goes there. His eyes were so sad while saying this. ‘My Sister has gone to be with God.

Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too,  so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister.

” My heart nearly stopped. The little boy looked up at me and said: ‘I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until

I come back from the mall.’

Then he showed me a very nice photo of him where he was laughing. He then told me ‘I want mommy to take my picture with her so my sister

won’t forget me. I love my mommy and I wish she doesn’t have to leave me,but daddy says that she has to go to be with my little sister.’

Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.

I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. “Suppose we check again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll?”

‘OK’ he said, I hope I do have enough. I added some of my money to his with out him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.

The little boy said: ‘Thank you God for giving me enough money!’

Then he looked at me and added, “I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll,

so that mommy could give It to my sister. He heard me!” ‘I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn’t dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose.My mommy loves white roses..’

I finished my shopping in a totally different state from when I started. I couldn’t get the little boy out of my mind.. Then I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young woman and a little girl. The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical state.

The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma. Was this the family of the little boy? Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the newspaper that the young woman had passed away.

I couldn’t stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the youngwoman was exposed for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.

She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.

I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed for ever.

The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is still, to this day, hard to imagine. And in a fraction of a second,a drunk driver had taken all this away from him.

PLEASE DO NOT DRINK & DRIVE.

Indian Economy Shining: Will have second fastest Growth Rate

Yeaahh Indian Economy is again ready to shine. The Indian economy will turn in the second-fastest growth rate in the world — after China’s 8% — for 2008-09. This is according to the advance estimates of national income released by the Central Statistical Organisation (CSO).
Increase in pay scale of employee has lead to increase in consumption of good, which is a big factor of this growth. Hmmmmm… 2009 is not going to be a tough year for Indian economy it seems. Chak De India.
